El Celler de Can Roca in Spain

El Celler De Can Roca is a small town restaurant in Girona, Spain that has risen to worldwide recognition.

In 2011 and 2012, they were voted the 2nd best restaurant in the world by the Restaurant Magazine, and they have appeared on the UK’s “Master Chef: The Professionals.” El Celler de Can Roca was started in 1986 by three brothers; Juan, Josep, and Jordi Roca.

In 2007 they moved to their present location, less than one hundred yards away, where they enjoy a constant flow of customers.

In fact, reservations have to be made six to seven months in advance for the week days, and ten to eleven months in advance for the weekend.

The Roca brothers pride themselves in their freestyle method and traditional Catalan cuisine while specializing in a very noticeable flair of uniqueness and creativity.

Their expertise in food preparation and presentation has caused it to be called “the most advanced gourmet restaurant in Spain,” and the best restaurant in Spain by many.

Although the kitchen is manned by 30 chefs, El Celler De Can Roca has not lost its uniqueness and personality in the least.

The Roca brothers compliment each other in providing a well rounded team of food professionals.

They take great pride in their work and , while not taking it lightly, have fun with the service they provide.

They treat it as an art rather than simple food production. Joan is an expert in taste and flavor combinations and takes the title of Master Chef, giving the restaurant its unique and irresistible main course dishes.

Jordi specializes in deserts, which rise high above average and leave a great final memory to each guest.

His creativity is apparent to all visitors. Josep is known for his expertise in wine pairing. The patron is given wines selected specifically to complement each course and enhance the entire taste of the meal.

The excellent wine pairing is one of the hallmark features of El Celler de Can Roca.

Despite the restaurant’s prestige, El Celler do Can Roca is well known for its warmth and friendliness.

Guests are treated well and not overlooked in the business of high end service. As would be expected, the food is pricey.

One can expect to pay over 200 Euros. But popular review says that the experience is well worth it.

Customers are treated to many distinctive courses and will not leave hungry.
